Bill Kent Sends Greetings to Bilkent

bill kentGreetings,

A business associate of mine recently told me about your university and similar namesake. My given name is William Kent, but my whole life I've been known as Bill Kent (like Robert is to Bob). I'm only guessing Turkish has some similar nicknames.

The pictures on your website remind me of the university I attended, San Diego State University, in California, where I grew up. While there, I worked part-time as a DJ, and I am amused to see the page for 96.6 Radio Bilkent. I am currently managing a subcontracting office in Tikrit in support of Coalition Forces in Iraq. I've been in Iraq for nearly four years, and have had the fortunate opportunity to work side-by-side with many Turkish companies here. I just thought I would say hello. It's not every day someone finds a university with their name on the wall. Nobody would believe me if I had a Business or Engineering degree from my own University!
