EE Student Elected to Board of EESTEC

eeAt the 22nd annual congress of EESTEC (Electrical Engineering Students European Association) International which was held April 4 to 14 in Ljulbjana, Slovenia and Rijeka, Croatia. Electrical and Electronics Engineering senior student Hüseyin Özcan was elected to the international board of EESTEC. He will take up the position of Vice Chairman for External Affairs. Özcan is also former Vice Chairman of Bilkent’s IEEE Student Branch and the current chairman of EESTEC LC Ankara.

EESTEC International is a non-political, non-profit organization made up of and representing Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) students at universities, institutes and technical schools in Europe. Their aim is to promote and develop international contacts and the exchange of ideas among the students of EECS. The association achieves its aim through improving the technical knowledge of EECS students and introducing them to the industry and the educational systems of other countries. In Europe, EESTEC has 39 local committees in 21 countries and in total, has approximately 1700 official members. In Ankara, the local branch of EESTEC is centered at METU under the IEEE METU Student Branch. Its board and members comprise students from five universities in Europe, and include students from Bilkent's IEEE Student Branch.
