A Fitness Success Story

success There comes a time in your life when you suddenly think, "I weigh a few more kilos than I should. I'd better start eating less and lose some weight". Then you'll probably diet for a few months and feel a little more relaxed and healthier. People will compliment you on how you look better. You will try not to eat so much, but you won't always eat the right foods. How many of you eat the hamburger menu on Monday, double cheeseburgers on Tuesday, pizza on Wednesday, and then become worried about being unhealthy and so eat some vegetables on Thursday? Despite your best efforts, you may feel that something is missing. You may feel tired and run out of breath when you have to run just a few meters (especially if you are a smoker).

Personally, when I was in that situation, I found the only thing that made me feel better was exercising. Fortunately, Bilkent University has not one, but three fitness centers. When you go to one, expert trainers welcome you and provide all kinds of assistance. They ask about your aim and combine this with their knowledge to create a unique fitness plan for you. This will include details of how often you need to exercise to reach your aim to get you started on your fitness program.

You may feel exhausted when you finish the first day, but your body will gradually start looking better and this will motivate you to keep exercising. Your serotonin and endorphin levels will increase, which will make you feel happier. Exercising just 6 hours per week can change your life. It's not just about feeling relaxed or receiving compliments; it is also about feeling refreshed, more confident and self-disciplined.

I've been exercising for two years now and I don't regret a day of it. The first step is to find a goal, whether it is feeling more fit and healthy, adding a new hobby to your life, looking better, or something else. The second step is to find out about the opportunities provided at Bilkent’s fitness centers. What are you waiting for?
