Judges Gavel Down on Konya Selçuk!

Last Saturday, your Judges met Konya Selçuk University on the Bilkent football field. Since both teams started the season with defeats, this was a pressure packed game. The Judges lost the last outing due to failures in defense, so they tried to take control from the get go, knowing that winning meant being a step closer to the first two places to qualify for the next round. By the half time whistle, the game was at a 0-0 draw, with both teams struggling with their offense.

bilkent judgesIn the third quarter, growing tensions led to a Selçuk player being disqualified, which brought cheers from the crowd. The Judges were having trouble getting into the positions they needed in order to score, but fueled by the ref's call, and the fan excitement, the team got all fired up. They scored a touchdown and a two-point conversation to lead 8-0. They secured the game in defense in the last minutes to claim their first victory!

Although the Judges won convincingly, seats in the stadium were still pretty empty. Support in the third quarter showed how essential fans are to success. In order to build up winning streaks for this passionate team and bring the league cup home, everyone in the Bilkent community is encouraged to come out and sing for their team! The Judges can smell the finals. They just have to beat Ankara University in the first weekend in December. Come to the field, support your team, feel the excitement, and push the Judges to the top.
