In every semester, students have many difficult courses that can be pretty tiring. However, there are some electives that students may find not only refreshing, but can provide new skills while having a good time. For instance, in the Department of Music and Performing Arts, they have a course dedicated to make-up that provides these opportunities. It is open to all students of all departments. The instructor of the course, Sema Tušsal, says that what attracts the attention of students is that "the content of the fall semester and spring semester are different from each other." In the fall semester, students learn all kinds of make-up tricks with the support of MAC, a cosmetics company, who supplies equipment and professional make-up artists, like Gülnur Evsen, and MAC Trainer, Burcu Taž. Along with information about make-up, they give advice on how to maintain healthy skin. About the spring semester course, Tušsal says "students learn greasepaint techniques, like aging, scar or sick face appearances." In the end, students generally seem to be glad to have participated and been part of an enjoyable and useful course, particularly for professional applications. It has proven to bring relaxation and self-confidence to students and offers a nice balance to a course load filled with heavy responsibilities.
