Türkçe Topluluğu (TT) is holding their third poetry competition, dedicated this year to Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca. The entry deadline is coming fast, so be sure to put the final touches on your poems and get them in!
The rules for the competition are as follows:
- Only undergraduate, graduate or master students of Bilkent University are eligible to participate
- Competitors may only contribute ONE poem.
- There is no limitation on subject or theme
- Poems must not be have been published or used in any other competetions
- Poems should not be more than 100 lines
Winning writers will be awarded with the following prizes: First, second and third place will receive cash prizes (200, 125, and 75 TL respectively) to be used to purchase books from Kitap Yurdu. Each will receive copies of "the Great Turkish Dictionary," "the Beautiful Articles," "Poems," a one year subscription to the journal Kardeş Kalemler and a set of books from Bengü Publications.
All poems will be presented to an initial jury first. They will choose the top ten 10 entries to be presented to the selective jury consisting of Prof. Dr. Talat Halman, Hilmi Yavuz, and Ali Akbaş. An official award ceremony will be held in the second or third week of May. Entries should be sent to siiryarismasi09@btt.gen.tr. Deadline is May 1!
