 Bilkent University's Underwater Club (BILSAT), put together in the fall of 2007 by M.Can Kerse, Haydar Çelik and Volkan Açękel, now has 107 members. Under the supervision of Prof.Orhan Aytür(EE) and with the participation of diving instructor Engin Demir, BILSAT has formed a dynamic scuba diving group. CMAS is an international diving federation centered in France that the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF) is in contact with. Courses were offered to beginner scuba divers. Between April 23 and 25, 31 members went on a diving trip to Bodrum. Eight members who passed the theory courses did well in their practical underwater skills and became certificated CMAS scuba divers. Moreover, three discovery divers were able to experience the beauty of the underwater world, and 19 already certificated divers felt the excitement of diving with fellow Bilkent students.
