Bilkent University continues to have a growing reputation abroad. There are many top ranking universities seeking to establish partnerships with Bilkent for cooperation in student and faculty exchanges as well as to collaborate in joint programs and research projects.
As recently as last week, Rector Ali Doğramacı and Deans Mehmet Baray, Hasan Erten and Erdal Erel, along with several faculty members, hosted delegations from the Shanghai University of Economics and Finance in China and Ajou University in Korea. Thirteen representatives of French universities also visited last week to strengthen existing partnerships and explore possibilities of new partnerships for exchange and joint programs.
A representative from Tilburg University, already a partner in two joint Master's Degree Programs in Economics and Management (MBA), visited and exchanged views with Dean Osman Berat Gürzumar of the Law Faculty regarding a joint degree program at the graduate level.
Bilkent University currently has agreements of cooperation with 22 universities in the USA, 135 universities in the European Union and 13 universities in other parts of the world, including universities in Canada, Israel, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and New Zealand.
Bilkent University is working towards a greater degree of internationalization in order to send and receive more exchange students in coming years. This year, 160 Bilkent students are spending a semester at various partner universities, and Bilkent is hosting 68 exchange students from 15 countries.
