Bilkent Scores in Ankara Orienteering Championship

Orienteering students of the course PE205 took part in their first official competition on 21 March, 2010 organized by the Ankara Branch of the Orienteering Federation in the forests of Ahlatlıbel. Burcu Denemeç (MBG/II) won a silver medal in the Women Short Distance race. The majority of the orienteers from Bilkent finished within the top 10 in both women and men's groups, while their instructor Nermin Fenmen won second place in the Women Long Distance race.

The group will be holding an introductory orienteering event on the school playgrounds for the 3rd year students in IDV Bilkent Primary School during the week. PE205 students, under the supervision of their instructor, will be acting as course planners and referees for the event as they introduce the youngsters to map-reading.
