Hunters Took the Game from Judges!

Bilkent Judges

The Bilkent Judges played the last game in the group stage of the American Football League against Bilgi University's Bilgi Hunters last Sunday April 4, on the Main Campus grass field. Despite  the support of many fans, the Jugdes lost the game with a surprisingly huge point gap of 6-38.

At the beginning of the first period, the match looked like a close game between two teams but after a few minutes passed, the Hunters took complete control. The Hunters performed very successfully in offense and took the lead with 0-14 by two touchdowns and one extra point.

In the second half, the Judges' defense problems continued through the Hunters' attacks. Although the Judges reached the goal line once during the period, they allowed the Hunters two touchdowns to leave a half time score of 6-26. In the second half, the Judges looked  more resistive, but the Hunters again scored a touchdown (6-32), demoralizing both Judges and fans. In the last period, the Jugdes tried hard for one more goal, but the Hunters beat them to it. Thus, the game finished with a victory for the Hunters at 6-38.

“I congratulate the Hunters,” said Erhan Akçabay. “They played much better than us and deserved the victory.”

With this score, the Hunters take first position in the group while the Judges take second. They will play in the quarter final of the League. The next game of the Judges will be on April 24 against Gazi University's Warriors.
