Republic Cup Badminton Tournament Results

Badminton

The Rector's  Cup Badminton Tournament was held on Sunday April 18, where a total of 24 players (11 women and 13 men)  participated. They competed in challenging matches within five different  groups: women's singles, men's singles, women's  doubles, men's doubles and mixed doubles.

“Badminton is the fastest racket game on Earth,” said Mr. İrfan Yıldırım, who has been a badminton instructor and coach of the Bilkent University team for 17 years. “There is no gender discrimination in badminton. Women and men play together on the same court at the same time. The number of players in badminton is the third biggest in the world.”

Badminton has been played  at Bilkent University since 1993. Two  Inter - University  Badminton Championship Events  have been held at the Bilkent Sport Center in the past.
