Republic's 75th Anniversary Sports Events End With Success
Ayaks, Sports International Secure Soccer Bragging Rights

Recently, two soccer tournaments - one for students and one for personnel - were organized by the Physical Education and Sports Center.

About 40 teams made up of nearly 400 students participated in the tournament that began on October 6 and ended on December 15.

The Ayaks team finished first, followed by FC Perma, Estrabim, and Dizeldorf.

Ayaks were: İlker Çelik, Dilhan Öncel, Emre Yetkiner, Ahmet Taytan, Saygın Ataoğul, Uğur Engür, Evren Polat, and Edip Öncü.

FC Perma was: Deniz Işık, Kerem Çokyer, Mehmet Tun, Ali Varışla, Utku Kumru, Metin Bekil, Sami Sghaier, Aziz Kılıç, Bülent Güler, and Barış Çağlar.

Estrabim was: Emre Gümüşdoğrayan, Tamer Bakıcıol, Ömer Ali, Murat Sarı, Aydın Özen, Hüseyin Yorgun, Serhan Özbek, Cem Şenoğlu, Şahin Yeşil, and İrfan Barış.

Dizeldorf was: Hakan Terzi, Aydemir Memişoğlu, Barış Özbey, Korhan Kocabıyık, Erdem Kurul, Uğur Arat, İlyas Kil, Bülent Yılmaz, and Tuncay Aydaş.

The winners received awards from Vice Rector Erol Arkun and Dr. Hayri Özkan, Director of the Physical Education and Sports Center. Congratulations to all winners and participants.

The Personnel Tournament, which started on November 11 and ended December 16, featured 13 teams of about 130 members. Sports International won first place, followed by the Physical Education and Sports Center, Library, and Transportation teams.

The winners received their awards from Vice Rector Phyllis Erdoğan and Dr. Hayri Özkan.

Notapipe Captures Basketball Crown

About 80 students separated into eight teams recently participated in a basketball tournament that started on November 17 and ended December 8.

The hard-fought final matches featured Manecan over Pamuk Prensler (88-75) for third place, and Notapipe beating the Red Devils (48-47) for first place.

The winners received awards from Dean of Students Zeynep Köksal and Dr. Hayri Özkan. Notapipe (first place) was: Orhan Gencel, Tolga Çalıßkan, Şükrü Tutak, Armağan Önal, Utku Barın, Hakan Gültekin, Ali Kemal Parlaktürk, Taner İncirci, Cem Şenoğlu, and Umut Ergunsu.

Red Devils (second place) were: Erkut Cüceoğlu, Bars Türköz, Batuhan Çelik, Bülent Özen, Başar Tez, Koray Doğanay, and Mustafa Kaya.

Manecon (third place) was: Kazım Mavış, Çağlar Kamu, Barış Güngör, Arda Sürmeli, Vagis Sultanbikov, Melis Üçüncü, Aytuğ Tabak, Levent Doğan, Tansu İlk, and Kerim Aliyev.

The basketball and soccer tournaments were part of the celebrations marking the Republic's 75th Anniversary.
