Bilkenters Better Behaved
Recently there were a several debates on one of the private TV channels. The topic was "the problems of University students" and it was held at Istanbul University.

I was exasperated and astonished by the behavior of the students. They were extremely disrespectful and did not show any signs of the maturity a university student should show to their elders and peers. I found them unable to express their thoughts, listen actively, or act as critical thinkers.

I am proud that Bilkent University, with the educational opportunities and the social environment we provide our students, has been able to allow its students to be critical-thinking individuals. My wish is to see more students actively involved in university programs.

Žule Berilgen, Freshman English Instructor
