Needed: Students Who Want to be Their Own Boss
Teaching students how to start their own business is more than a job - it's a vision, a new way of educating. Entrepreneurship is a life skill that everyone should learn. When you learn how to start and run a small business you gain a greater sense of control and direction over your future. That's exactly what students need today -- confidence that they are the captains of their own ships. But most of the people who have graduated from university don't have the motivation to be an entrepreneur and they generally look for work with private companies or for state institutions despite the fact that they can obtain the financial support necessary to start their own business.

As the Young Enterprise Society, we believe that every student who graduates from Bilkent University has an advantage in finding a good job. But we also know that a lot of our friends want to have their own businesses one day. Therefore, we are planning long-term activities that will help the development of tomorrow's entrepreneurs. If you dream about being the captain of your own ship, you should realize that without planning, dreams cannot be realized.

For more information about the Society, come to our meeting Tuesday, February 2, at Room Z01 in the Student Union Building between 6 and 8 p.m. If you can't attend but want to learn more, e-mail ysahin@ug.bcc.bilkent.edu.tr or call ext. 4992.
