Volunteers Make a Difference
FEASS and FBA student executive committees decided to help students with their academic and administrative problems and announced at Bilkent News earlier in the year that they opened two offices, one at AZ10 and one at MA119A. This semester, during registration and the add and drop week they served more than 500 students, including those on East Campus. Out of 18 student representatives in both faculties, 14 volunteered. Those from FEASS were: Boğaç Cicioğlu, Adem Yazıcı, İsmail Özdemir, Başak Gülalp, Didem Özkan, Göktürk Şimşekol, and Elif Dersimli. Students from FBA were: Kazım Eryılmaz, Tolga Ünsel, Uğurcan Akgün, Onur Öz, Doğa Ulaş, Gazanfer Caca, and Arda Bayraktar.

The same group is planning an orientation program for first year students new this semester in cooperation with the Political Science Club on Tuesday, February 16, between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in Room A-130 of the FEASS Building. Also, in cooperation with the Diplomacy Club, they will assist the International Relations students, and in cooperation with the Management and ECON Club they will assist MAN and ECON students (the time and place will be announced in an upcoming issue of Bilkent News).

The group had campaigned as the Iletißim Grubu (Communication Group) during the student elections last year and they promised that they would work for their fellow students as needed. "We learn teamwork and become more sociable individuals," they said. And obviously, they've made a difference.
