Twenty-seven major domestic and international companies plan to be on campus Friday to take part in Bilkent's Career Fair, interviewing students for internships and post-graduation jobs. Below are profiles of some of the companies and what they're expecting from you.

Academy International is the representative in Turkey of Sunley Management Center, a training and consultancy firm affiliated with University College of Northampton in England. We are offering training and consultancy services to universities and companies in the private and public sector. Some of our focus areas are institutional and social development programs and training programs in the stock market, financial resources, and foreign trade.

Alcatel, a telecommunications company, chose to participate in the Fair for promotional reasons. This is our first Fair experience and we believe Bilkent is a good place to start. We have career and training opportunities for graduating classes. We will talk about our company and we will introduce our products. We will also try to connect Bilkent students with other Alcatel companies across the globe.

Arthur Andersen is one of the world's leading providers of professional services with more than 70,000 personnel in 382 locations in 81 countries. We provide our services under the categories of insurance and business advisory; tax, legal, and business advisory; contract, finance, and accounting service; and human capital services. At present, these services are provided to our clients through İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, and Bursa offices. It is important for us to attend Career Days because the talent and skills of our people are the heartbeat of our organization. Therefore, we are committed to hiring and training the best candidates from universities.

Bayındır Holding started its management trainee programs in 1998. With an objective to recruit new graduates from the leading universities in Turkey, we give two months of training for prospective managers. Events like Career Days are important for us because for they provide early communication between students and our companies. We will show a promotional video, hand out brochures about our company, and our application forms will be available at our stands. Our company officials will also be available to answer any questions. We already have Bilkent graduates working in Bayİndİr Holding Companies at top positions.

BelConti Resort Hotel distinguishes itself from other five-star hotels and believes that its institutional standards are similar to those of Bilkent. We provide internship opportunities for Bilkent students because we believe Bilkent's School of Tourism and Hotel Management is the best in Turkey. We are offering job opportunities to new graduates and during the Fair we are going to have a visual introduction for those interested in Belconti.

The British Council works in more than 109 countries all over the world. Since its founding in Turkey in 1939, the organization places special importance on offering a range of activities to enhance cultural and educational relations between the two countries. From its libraries of English books, the Chevening Scholarship Program, its English language testing centers, its sponsorship of concerts and art events, to technical support given to World Bank projects, the British Council has something to offer to everyone. For students attending Career Days, the British Council is organizing a prize drawing for one lucky student to attend a two-week English language course at Inlingua Cheltenham School in England, course fees and accommodation to be paid by the school.

Coca-Cola is participating in the Fair because of its belief in Bilkent. At present, we don't have very many Bilkent graduates in our companies, yet we are very willing to include some. As we introduce our company, we will also offer our internship programs in management, economics, and chemistry, which last six to eight weeks. We believe that our interns are potential human resources. We will hand out application forms at the Fair.

Eczacıbaşı makes regular trips to universities to promote its products and services. We function in various sectors such as consumer products, including health products; construction works; marketing groups; service groups; and computer programming. At present, we have some summer internship openings and we are going to give a proficiency test to candidates at the Fair. We will have sessions and meetings with students throughout Career Days and we are participating in the panel on March 16.

Garanti Teknoloji sees Bilkent as the best university in Turkey. We are very happy with the Bilkent graduates who work with us as computer engineers and programmers. Some of them hold managerial positions. We are going to introduce the most recent technologies we use at the Fair. We will also display some novelties in computer technology including our new approach to banking. We admire Bilkent students' level of knowledge, ability to adapt to the work environment, and their motivation.

Hilton International operates five hotels in Turkey with approximately 1,500 employees. Hilton believes that its employees are its most important assets. They are the hotel managers of the future who will lead the company to success. We believe the Fair is a good opportunity for us to meet Bilkent students who will make high-potential employees.

Oracle's company policy is to support universities and we have projects involving universities. We see higher education institutions as potential human resources. In our family of companies we recruit successful new graduates and, in that sense, Bilkent graduates are among the best in Ankara. Our objective is to raise students' consciousness about our company and introduce our computer technology and computer systems.

OYAK Travel and Tourism Company has been working with Bilkent for a long time. We are involved in domestic and foreign travel, organizing big and small conventions, and fairs. We provide internships, full, and part-time jobs and we are interested in Bilkent students because they attend a university with high standards. We need people who can speak a foreign language and can work across Turkey.

real- is only two years old in the Turkish market and, therefore, we are trying to recruit our future executives by joining the Fair. We need well-educated yet inexperienced people. We have a project called "Management Pool," which is a "real- school" training program. Those who finish this program take a position in the real- chain. We are looking for candidates who are flexible and able to work anywhere in Turkey.

Tepe Group companies were formed in 1969 by the Foundations which were established by İhsan Doğramacı to support, at that time, the newly established Hacettepe University. Subsequently, in 1984, when Bilkent University was established, the ownership of the companies was transferred to Bilkent. Tepe Group provides total service from initial design to turn-key delivery. This approach is the result of the total integration of various companies such as construction, construction systems, construction materials, doors and windows, and kitchens and furniture, in the Group.

Tepe Group headquarters and factories in Ankara and Eskişehir are the centers of more than 30 large national and international construction sites, approximately 10 regional directorates, large stores in various cities and hundreds of dealers providing a broad spectrum of services.

TRT is a very big state broadcasting institution and we are interested in communicating the significance of this organization to young generations. TRT always wants to raise its standards and this depends mainly on the quality of its human resources. TRT plays a major role in Turkish society and has a variety of positions available for young graduates like Bilkent students who have modern education and training.

Yaşar Holding is participating in Career Days to promote the company to the young and well-educated people. We are going to hand out a book during the fair called "Start with the Right Foot." We are looking forward to meeting confident and well-communicating applicants among Bilkent students. Our need for human resources spans from tourism to foreign trade, from housing to insurance, and from food production to chemical dyes.

Yeşim Textile is very well-known in the world market, and we are cooperating with many leading brands such as Marks & Spencer, Reebok, Sergio Tachini, Nike, Ralph Lauren, etc. We want to include some Bilkent graduates in our family of companies because we believe Bilkent is one of the best universities.
