Turkey-European Union Club organized a conference on Tuesday, April 15, with the participation of Prof. Hüseyin Bağcı from METU International Relations Department. Prof. Bağcı talked about Turkish Foreign and Security Policies in light of recent developments, but the main subject of his speech was relations between Turkey and European Union. He said both sides made serious allegations against each other after the Luxembourg Conference of December 1997 and that this summit was a turning point in Turkey's foreign policy. He stressed that both sides have calmed down now and that it is time some efforts were made.
Turkey-European Union Club aims at creating awareness among the young people at Bilkent about Turkey's European cause and foreign policy. We believe the dynamism and consciousness of young people in Turkey will determine our country's destiny and that Bilkent students should lead, which will be possible only raising our awareness.
