Student Wins Russian Reading Contest

A Bilkent International Relations (IR) student won the Russian Embassy's recent Puskin Poems Reading Contest, besting 14 competitors from Russian Language and Literature faculties from across Turkey. Halit Dündar Akarca won the Thursday, April 15, contest and was awarded a trip to Bilkent's Mustafa Gökçek (IR) won third place and was awarded a copy of Puskin's collection. Other competitors from Bilkent, all from IR, were: Filiz Tutku Aydın and Ümit Ersoy.
