Bilkent University Chess Club hosted Hacettepe University, METU and Kara Harp Okulu (Military Academy) for the 75th Anniversary Inter-universities Chess Tournament held on October 24 and 25. Three rounds were played and each of the four teams had six players. The games were of high quality with the players of high national chess ratings. The games were played against time based on 1 hour/20 moves, 1 hour/guillotine (totally 2 hours per player) which enhanced the quality of games.
The tournament was the first to bring the chess clubs and teams of Ankara universities together. Bilkent University Chess Club is proud to be a pioneer in this process.
At the end of the tournament, Kara Harp Okulu took the first place scoring the same points with the second Hacettepe University; Bilkent University took the third place and METU was the fourth of all.
Fourth Bilkent Chess Tournament scheduled for October will start on November 5. The delay is due to the extended Republic Day holiday.

November 5: 6-8 p.m. elimination rounds
November 6: 6 p.m. first round
November 7: 1-4 p.m. second and third rounds
November 8: 1-4 p.m. fourth and fifth rounds.
