French President Honors Podoplu
|

At a ceremony held in July at French Embassy in Ankara. His Excellency Jean-claude Cousseran, Ambassador of France in Turkey, on behalf of French Resident Jacques Chirac, honored Kamer Rodoplu as a chevalier with the L'Ordre National du Merite (French state award given to the French nationals for their outstanding services to their contru, and also to the other nationals for their contrivutions for the relations with France).
Mr. Rodoplu, a graduate of Galatasary Lisesi, received De Gaulle Scholarship for higher education from the French government and studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Institut National des Sciences Appliquees de Lyon in France. He has long been active in promoting Franco-Turkish relations and is the president of Franco-Turkish Association of Engineers.
Kamer Rodoplu joined Bilkent University in September 1986 and is currently the director of STHM, VSTHS and VSCTOM.
