An Inside Look at Radio Bilkent
Radio Bilkent, founded in 1995, is run by volunteer Bilkent students. You can tune in to the radio, which is also known as 'The Electronic Communications Group of Bilkent University', at 106.7 FM. When you enter the Radio Bilkent offices, it is not hard to understand why students choose to volunteer there. It offers a friendly atmosphere together with the opportunity for students to gain valuable on-the-job experience. The students find working at the radio attractive as well because they can share their favorite music with a large number of people.

The radio itself is quite an organized unit. There are 68 students currently donating their time and energy to Radio Bilkent and they work in three different groups. These groups are Public Relations, Alternative DJ's, and Classical DJ's. Close liaison between the groups makes it possible for the organization to run smoothly.

Radio Bilkent offers different programming choices for listeners at different times of the day. Alternative music plays from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. every day, except for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m., when classical music is on offer. Radio Bilkent welcomes your music requests, which you can phone in (ext. 2303) or send by e-mail (radio@bilkent.edu.tr). In addition to music, Radio Bilkent organizes 'talk' programs with guests who come to visit Bilkent University, such as Uğur Dündar, Okan Bayülgen, and Stephen Day. Students who are not able to see the guests speak in person on campus thus have a chance to listen to them live on the radio.

Radio Bilkent invites all interested students to join in its friendly, energetic, and professional environment. Why don't you become a Radio Bilkent member too? All you need to do is go to Radio Bilkent and fill out an application form. If your application goes through, you will receive training before taking on any duties. If it is beautiful to share, how much more so is it to share music!
