Kaynaşlı Education Center Seeks Volunteers
Bilkent has recently opened a Center for Social Work and Education in Kaynaşlı to serve the earthquake survivors. The center will primarily cater to children between the ages of four and fourteen, with some instruction for older teens and adults. Volunteers are being sought who can teach computer skills, English, reading and writing, as well as tutor after classes. In addition, those with experience in music, drama, crafts, chess, and sports are encouraged to come forward and help out. The center also has a daycare and a TV and video room. Two dormitories are available for the convenience of volunteers staying overnight.

The Executive Board of this project is comprised of Zeynep Köksal (Dean of Students), Dr. Rasim Özyürek (Director of Training Programs for Regional Countries), and Yener Ergüven (Assistant Chair in THM/THS).

This promises to be a wonderful sharing opportunity for both volunteers and earthquake survivors, and great experience for Bilkent students. If you are interested in volunteering at the Kaynaşlı Education Center, please apply to Ayşin Gürbüz (ext: 2483/ ggurbuz@bilkent.edu.tr) at the Dean of Students' Office no later than February 9. Keep your eyes open for more news!
