Change at the Helm of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts
There has been a change in the administration of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts (FMPA) of Bilkent University. Prof. Ersin Onay, who has served as the Dean of the FMPA for the last 12 years, will be leaving his post. Namęk Sultanov, who is also a member of the FMPA, will serve as the acting dean until a new appointment is made for the position.
A deanship at the university is a 3-year position renewable upon approval of the Board of Trustees. After a distinguished service of four 3-year terms, Prof. Ersin Onay has expressed a desire to focus on his duties as a professor at the FMPA. The university administration has agreed to his wishes and has expressed its appreciation for the outstanding accomplishments of the faculty under his leadership.
The university again wishes to express its thanks to Prof. Ersin Onay for his invaluable contributions to the faculty.
