International Center Awaits You
The International Center at Bilkent University offers assistance and guidance to all international faculty and students at Bilkent. Among its services are: producing orientation handbooks for new arrivals and familiarizing them with the campus and its environs, hosting international visitors, and promoting Bilkent University abroad through the preparation of brochures, posters, and pamphlets. The Center works in close cooperation with BISC (Bilkent International Students Club).

Currently at Bilkent University there are nearly 200 international students from over 40 countries and 350 international faculty members from over 60 countries. The Center aims to reach them all to offer its assistance and learn more about their experiences at Bilkent. Through such contact, feedback can be gathered to ease the adjustments that international members of the Bilkent community undergo.

The International Center Coordinator, Dr. Saadet Bozkurt, is a former Bilkenter. She was an Associate Professor of American Literature in the Faculty of Humanities and Letters from 1986 to 1995. She set up the Department of American Culture and Literature there and left for Başkent University to do the same. She returned to Bilkent in November 1999 to take on the challenge of improving the quality of life of international students and staff at Bilkent. More information about the Center and Saadet Bozkurt herself is available on the web-site http://www.bilkent.edu.tr/~dos/international/index.html.

Don't forget to attend the upcoming meeting organized by the International Center for all international students on campus on March 9, at 5 p.m., in the FEASS Building, C-Block Auditorium. The meeting will be followed by a reception.

The International Center is located in the Student Union Building. To contact the Center call ext. 2944 or e-mail intcent@bilkent.edu.tr.
