On Saturday, February 26, 50 Bilkent students paid a visit to the Fatih Child Shelter in Sincan. The event was organized by Çocuk Koruma ve Geliştirme Kulübü and Sosyal Yardımlaşma Topluluğu, with the support of Çocuk İşçiliğini Önleme Kulübü.

The festivities began with a performance by two music bands from the FMPA that had the children up dancing and singing. When the music stopped, the children were treated to cake and drinks. Patience was finally rewarded when gifts were given out. Girls roamed around happily with their Cindy dolls and the boys were busy making their wind-up cars do impossible feats. Even students were enjoying themselves running around with one, and sometimes two laughing children on their back. The children were grateful for the presents and entertainment but were most of all happy to be remembered. Everyone had such a great time that students were already asking when the next visit to the shelter would take place.
