Paso Student Films Festival to Foster Young Filmmaking
Every year, many university students in Turkey produce motion pictures in the hope of contributing to the development of film art. Unfortunately many of these films, each of which is the end product of intense effort and creativity, do not have the opportunity of a screening and thus cannot reach a cinema audience. In response to this situation, a group of students from the Department of Communication and Design decided to establish Paso Student Films Festival. The festival is to be held from November 3 to 5 in the German Culture Center in Ankara. The aim of this festival is to bring together student films, the cinema audience and the young filmmakers.

During the Paso Student Films Festival, post-screening discussions and panels will accompany many of the films. While the discussions will enable the audience to exchange ideas with the filmmakers, panels of larger scale will aim to determine the common problems faced by young filmmakers. Participants - from all over Turkey and special guests from Germany - will be accommodated in Ankara for the duration of the festival.
