Dear Students,
Bilkent Universtiy starts its 15th year of education this year. I am very happy to see that the mission formulated many years ago of creating a Bilim Kenti (City of Learning and Science) has come true.
A university that started with 386 students in 1986, has now over 10,000 students. Bilkent graduates have been accepted to well recognized universities such as Stanford, Harvard, and the Universtiy of California. I am proud to see that many of our instructors receive awards from such bodies as TÜBA and TÜBİTAK, as weel as fellowships from abroad. We are also happy to see that our university has become a multicultural enviroment with many experienced professors and students from all over the world. To see all these developments as the result of good teamwork between faculty, students, and staff in only 15 years gives me a great sense of satisfaction.
During this year, please take the opportunity of making use of the many facilities available at Bilkent Universtiy.
