Bilkent News interviewed Acting Rector Professor Abdullah Atalar about the health of Professor Ali Doğramacı who is currently in New York receiving treatment for the cancerous tumors found on his neck and vocal chords.
Professor Atalar informed us that the chemotherapy treatments have been completed and the vocal chords are now totally clean. The tumor on his neck shrank and the remaining part was surgically removed last week.
Professor Ali Doğramacı will be receiving radiation treatment. His physicians are expecting him to be fully recovered by the end of November, at which time he will be resuming his duties back at Bilkent.
