Upcoming Symposium on Turkish Literature
This week at a three-day symposium called "Theories and Investigations" thirty-one graduate students from the Department of Turkish Literature will be presenting their work. Unique to Turkey, this symposium will deal with Turkish literature in both its theoretical and historical aspects. The first two days will feature 18 student presentations on theories of literature and on the third day, 13 students will present work done for their M.A. theses, with a particular emphasis on Turkish literature, past and present.

The symposium will start Tuesday with opening remarks from Prof. Bülent Bozkurt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Letters, and conclude with a reception on Thursday afternoon. For program details, see the insert in this week's Bilkent News.

The dates and venue are December 19 through 21 at the new B-Building, Room 113. The events are scheduled between 10 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and between 10 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. on Thursday . So come out to meet and support the young literary scholars of Turkey. You will be warmly welcomed.
