Conference Emphasizes Teaching Beginners
|
 The sixth international BUSEL Conference, organized by the Bilkent University School of English Language, was held at Bilkent Hotel on February 15 through 17, with the focus of "Challenges and Creativity in Teaching Beginners". The aim of the conference
was to address the primary challenges facing both learners and teachers in the beginner classroom, with an emphasis on adult learners and teenagers.
Over 250 participants from around the world attended workshops, discussions and stimulating plenary sessions presented by international leaders in the field of language education. Issues such as language awareness, language as communication, the use of the mother tongue and translation, the role of creativity, and training teachers to teach beginners were highlighted in this year's conference.
