Opening Ceremony for HART Student Reading Room
|
The new reading room is a former departmental classroom, which the Erel and Uğurel families have recarpeted, painted, and elegantly furnished with tables and chairs, sofas, lamps, bookshelves and a collection of archaeology books and journals. Although it is intended primarily as a place where students can find a quiet, comfortable setting in which to study during school hours, it will also continue to be used for graduate seminars and small classes. Since its Monday opening, the room has seen constant use, and has already demonstrated its usefulness.
The entire department expresses its gratitude to the donors, especially Mr. Yalçın Erel and Mrs. Ayşe Uğurel, for this most generous and thoughtful gift.
