On November 23, Sinema Kulübü welcomed a well known director to campus. Ali Özgentürk, whom you may remember as the director of Balalayka, discussed “Turkish Cinema” at the club’s most recent meeting. Ali Özgentürk has spent numerous years working in cinema and is acknowledged for both his long and short films. Much of his work has received extensive praise, awards and honors, from critics. Among the issues covered in his talk, Özgentürk spoke about being a director, working on the set, the differences between American, European, and Turkish cinema, and the future of Turkish cinema.
    Sinema Kulübü is expecting to invite other directors in the future. The meetings are open to everybody and anyone wishing to attend is cordially invited to do so.
