A publication by Bilkent faculty Faruk Selçuk,
Ramazan Gençay in conjunction with Brandon Whitcher entitled “An
Introduction to Wavelets and Other Filtering Methods in Finance and
Economics” (Academic Press,September 2001), has ranked first on the
bestseller lists of “Wavelets” (144 titles), and “Mathematics, Pure
Mathematics and Functional Analysis” (248 titles)....

Bahar Yetiş Kara, a 1999 Ph.D. graduate of the Department of
Industrial Engineering, has won the prestigious UPS-SOLA (The United
Parcel Service - Section on Locational Analysis of INFORMS)
Dissertation Award for the year 2001 for her dissertation entitled
“Modelling and Analysis of Issues in Hub Location Problems”,
supervised by Dr. Barbaros Tansel....
