Electronics Students Compete!
The introduction course to Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EE-101) held two contests, one for each section of the course.
Professor Levent Onural from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has been arranging this competition every year for the 1st year students, to introduce them to the field of electrical engineering and to motivate them in their studies. All students who take this course are required to participate in the contest.
Every year, Prof. Onural provides different projects for the students and this years contest focused on “Electrical-Mechanical-Electrical Power Conversion”. The aim of the project was to retain the highest possible conversion efficiency. The winners of the December 13 contest produced 55% output from their work.
The winners of the December 13 contest were Ömer Faruk Kaya and Yýlmaz Karakaþ. They said “The award took us completely by surprise, mainly due to the time restraints we were under. However, we are very pleased that we took the risk and entered.” The winners of the other section were Mehmet Aykol and Kemal Barlas Aypak.
