Last week, C-Block Auditorium was full of Bilkent students meeting with Grup Gündoğarken who were invited to the University by Yeni Ufuklar Kulübü. Grup Gündoğarken, talked about their music and answered questions. One of the questions was about the meaning behind the name of the group. İlhan Şeşen said “We believe that every shining day brings hope and that’s why our group’s name is Gündoğarken.”

At the end of the talk when one of our students asked them to sing their most popular song Ellerimde Çiçekler, they said “Let’s sing it together”. Then everybody in the C-Block Auditorium started singing the song together with huge smiles on their faces.
Bilkent News interviewed Grup Gündoğarken after their show finished. When asked about Bilkent University and Bilkent students, they said that Bilkent students are warm and intelligent. They also mentioned that ODEON was one of the best concert halls they had ever seen, and that the students here at Bilkent should truly appreciate all the opportunities that the university offers them.
