Korkut has worked at Bilkent University Library for 10 years. She has been the Head of the Art Library at Bilkent, the largest art library in Turkey, for six years. During that time, in addition to building the Art Library’s collection of monographs and journals, she expanded and publicized the Turkish Plastic Arts Archive, a repository of over 32,000 newspaper clippings, magazine articles, and exhibition materials related to the work of contemporary Turkish artists. Korkut plans to use her award to make new contacts with other art librarians around the world, and to use their collective experiences and ideas to further build and improve Bilkent University’s Art Library and its collections and services.
