“Bir Evlenme” Opens at FMPA

Don’t miss the graduation performance of the 4th year theater students at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts. The students will be performing “Bir Evlenme” (“The Marriage”) by N. V. Gogol every Friday until April 5, at the FMPA Theater Hall at 8 p.m.
Nikolai Gogol is one of the most delightful, sophisticated, and ironic authors of his time. Gogol’s prose is characterized by imaginative power and linguistic playfulness. Gogol’s “Bir Evlenme”, is a comedy which deals with the search for the meaning of life and the conflicts surrounding people once they think they have discovered that meaning. In the play, the main character doesn’t want to marry but the conditions of his life and the people around him force him to do so.
Under the general arts direction of Prof. Cüneyt Gökçer, Chair of Performing Arts, and the direction of George Antadze, the students demonstrate a high level of excellence on stage. For ticket information and reservations call ext. 1775.
