Are you concerned about environmental issues, or would you like to become more aware of the issues? Çevre Kulübü invites all students to join and become more involved in protecting the environment. The mission of the club is to make all Bilkent students, faculty and staff aware of environmental issues; to work for a greener Bilkent and Turkey; and to contribute to the protection of natural resources.
In the past, Çevre Kulübü has been involved in organizing "Tree Day" activities; presenting conferences with experts on subjects such as soil erosion, water and forest ecology, and slide shows about environmental issues; and joining with other environmental organizations, such as TEMA, to achieve its goals.
The club plans to continue many of these activities, and also to enlarge the recycling project to include the collection of plastic bottles, cans, and glass. In addition, it plans to coordinate with other university environmental clubs for common activities, and to participate in the TEMA University Organization conference in İstanbul in October.
