Letter to the Editor

Dear Emre Tarım,
I am a member of both the MUN 2001 and Euroforum 2002 Bilkent Delegations. First of all, I found it odd that you did not notice the gigantic posters all around the faculty which had been posted about a month in advance. Also, as a senior in the same department, I congratulate your superior expertise in our field; fortunately you are not the only student who took that class. Unfortunately, maybe you missed the lecture which taught about the European Union symbol with 12 golden stars on a blue background, and this kept you from recognizing it on the posters.
In addition, Bilkent participates in such organizations for only two years. Therefore, you could not be reading about such news for three years. Also, since most members are in IR, it would be easier for you to ask any of us who are around in the department, or your advisor.
As for your question, this year, despite all our efforts, Bilkent failed to create such a club. Our participation is thus a matter of personal initiative. Our members who will be here next year plan to apply, again, for the establishment of an MUN Club, open to all. This way, the communication channels will be more effective and you will find out about such organizations ahead of time if you choose to become a member.
Feyza Barutçu (IR/IV)
