With the goal of raising environmental awareness at Bilkent, Bilkent Çevre Kulübü has been working for a greener campus. The mission of the club is to make all Bilkent students, faculty and staff aware of environmental issues, to work for a greener Bilkent and Turkey, and to help contribute to the protection of our natural resources.
In the past Çevre Kulübü has been involved in organizing “Tree Planting Day” activities, presenting conferences with experts on subjects such as soil erosion, water and forest ecology, and offering slide shows about environmental issues, sometimes joining with other environmental organizations, such as TEMA, to achieve its goals. The club plans to continue many of these activities, and also to enlarge the current recycling project. Çevre Kulübü meets every Thursday, at the Student Union Building, at 5:30 p.m.
