Bilkent News Needs Your Help!

Dear Bilkent News Readers,
Welcome back to a new semester at Bilkent! The Bilkent News invites all interested students to become active members in their weekly newspaper. To become an active member, read the Bilkent News every week, follow events and articles, and submit articles of interest to the newspaper along with photographs. For sports lovers, Bilkent News is looking for reporters, writers and photographers to cover university events.
Here are the guidelines for submitting articles or announcements to the Bilkent News: Articles or announcements should be in English, 200 words or less, and should be as free as possible from spelling and grammatical errors. All submissions should be related to academic, social or cultural events at Bilkent or the activities of Bilkent students, faculty members or administrators. Submissions related to a specific event should include the date, time and location of the event. It should also include the name, telephone extension and e-mail address of the person or persons to contact for more information.
In order to be considered for inclusion in the following Tuesday’s issue, submissions must be handed in by 10 a.m. Wednesday the previous week. Short event announcements and Bilad items may be submitted as late as 5 p.m. on Thursday. The Editorial Board of the Bilkent News reserves the right to make changes or to reject any submissions. For weekend activities, please call the Communications Unit to provide the information before the event, or submit the article on the following Monday. Submissions should be e-mailed to bilnews@bilkent.edu.tr or turned in directly, in hard copy, to the Communications Unit, room G-22 in the Engineering Building. For further information, call ext. 1487.
