Le Piment Rouge Has Something for Everyone

As an internationally recognized opera singer, Ms. Korad performed in venues all over the globe, including Holland, Spain, Italy, Finland, Czechoslovakia, Belgium, Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Hungary, Canada, Rumania, Germany, Greece, and was featured in many of the world’s leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera and La Scala. In addition to her work as a singer, Ms. Korad also directed opera performances by music students at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, and as an instructor helped many fledgling singers in Turkey to become leading soloists.
A special ceremony for Suna Korad was held on Sunday, March 23 at the Bilkent Concert Hall in which speeches were presented by Erkan Mumcu, Minister of Culture, and Rector Ali Doðramacý, as well as other dignitaries. A choir comprised of Ms. Korad’s former students performed a farewell concert in her honor.
