Prof. Talat Halman, Chairman of the Department of Turkish Literature, has initiated a new English-language TV series on the diverse aspects of Turkey yesterday and today. The first three programs in the series (“İstanbul”, “Ottoman Cuisine” and “Ayasofya”) were televised on September 30, October 7 and 14 respectively.
The forthcoming topics are:
October 21: Topkapı Palace
October 28: İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts
November 4: Turkish Tourism
November 11: Atatürk (with guest Prof. Dr. Stanford Shaw)
November 18: Turkish Love poetry
(with guest Yıldız Kenter)
“All About Turkey” is televised from 11:40 p.m. to 12:10 a.m. Monday nights on TRT-INT. For Turkish viewers subtitles are provided.
