The Physical Education and Sports Center offers Taekwondo courses for those interested in the martial arts. An ancient sport, Taekwondo (also written as "tae kwon do", "taekwon-do" or "t'aegwondo") is a modern martial art from Korea characterized by fast and high kicks.
Taekwondo seeks to achieve physical fitness, to improve mental discipline and emotional balance, to teach self-defense skills, and to develop a sense of responsibility for one’s self and others. The combination of physical, mental and cultural features of this sport is one of its greatest attractions for many students.
Taught by Menekşe Öztürk, taekwondo courses are held at the Main Campus Spots Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays between 6 - 8 p.m. If you are interested, don't hesitate to join. For more information call the Physical Education and Sports Center at
ext. 1993 or 1325.
