See You at the Movies!

Sinema Toplulušu, as its name suggests, is an organization established by Bilkent cinema enthusiasts dedicated to the world of cinema. The goal of this organization is to create an atmosphere where people can share their knowledge and learn new things about cinema.
Sinema Toplulušu organizes three different activities throughout the academic year: cinema viewings, workshops, and a cinemagazine. The Club presents award-winning movies or films with an international appeal. Two different films are presented each week throughout the academic year.
Cinema Workshops provide information for cinema lovers on how to create their own short movies. Sinema Toplulušu members give lessons on such essentials as how to write a screenplay, lighting techniques, and camera-use. After the workshop, members create their own short films of approximately 10 or 15 minutes. This semester four different screenplays written by the students will be made into short films. Workshops are offered on Saturdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and are open to everyone.
CineMagazine, which is available weekly online, consists of six different parts: coming attractions, future activities, this week on Sinema Toplulušu, letters from the editor, a list of the top ten favorite movies in Turkey, and a section on the history of the cinema. All writers for CineMagazine are volunteer Bilkent students.
For up to date information concerning the cinema world, sign on to: www.ug.bcc.bilkent.edu.tr/~cinema. If you would like to be a writer for CineMagazine or are interested in shooting a film, send an e-mail to cinema@ug.bilkent.edu.tr.
