On April 16, the İhsan Doğramacı Foundation Özel Bilkent Primary, Middle and High Schools held their 10th annual Spring Symposium on Effective Teaching Practices in IB World Schools, hosting more than 400 educators from Ankara and nine other cities in Turkey.
Yıldırım Koç, a faculty member at METU, and Ferhat Akbaş, the head coach of the Turkish Volleyball Federation’s national women’s teams, were the symposium’s keynote speakers. Their remarks focused on the role of effective teaching practices, teamwork and motivation, as well as the importance of school.
Symposium participants were able to attend a selection of the 23 IB workshops led by Bilkent Primary, Middle and High School teachers. They also had the opportunity to enjoy piano, choral and folk dance performances by the schools’ students.
