The Department of Theater has signed a cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Theater Academy in China. With this agreement, the department will advance a step further in its world-class performance education.
Department Chair Jason Hale highlighted the importance of such international initiatives, which make it possible to develop joint projects and extend the scope of the department’s programs. He noted that the Shanghai Theater Academy has been invited to Bilkent for the fourth annual “Theater Days” event this coming June.
Meanwhile, the Department of Theater will continue its “Thursday Nights” series with a new season of six plays next semester. The current season’s plays, “Third-Class Relationships” (directed by İlham Yazar) and “American Blues” (directed by Mr. Hale), will be on stage until the end of November.
