The 2016 IEEE Graduate Research Conference (GRC), organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Bilkent IEEE Student Branch, will take place on March 4 in the lecture halls on the ground floor of the EB building. During this day-long event, Bilkent EEE students will describe their state-of-the-art research projects through oral and poster presentations.
This year’s schedule includes 66 oral presentations, to be run in three parallel sessions. Graduate students will share their research projects and results, and answer questions from the audience. The sessions, numbering 12 in total, will cover various areas of electrical and electronics engineering including signal processing, communications, electromagnetics, biomedical engineering, electronics, photonics, control, robotics, networks and nanotechnology. In addition to the oral sessions, there will be a poster session with 46 presentations in the afternoon. During the poster session, the audience will have a chance to interact with the researchers and learn about the research being carried out in the EEE department. The conference will also include invited poster/demo presentations by some EEE undergraduate students.
At the end of the day, the best presenters will be recognized by the Bilkent IEEE Student Branch: three “best oral presentation” awards and a “best poster” award will be given out.
The event promises to be a day filled with knowledge sharing, and a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to experience the world of research in engineering and science. Participants will also have a chance to interact with researchers from other universities, as well as professionals from the top engineering companies in Turkey.
