The South Asian Cultural Club held its first-ever Pakistan Cultural Event on Saturday, November 26. The event celebrated the history, culture and social aspects of the country with great passion and vigor. This cultural showcase featured an informative overview of the diverse provinces and administrative regions within Pakistan. It was not a purely educational affair, however, as the attendees were constantly entertained by a wide variety of performances demonstrating the country’s performing arts heritage.
The mix of light-hearted to thought-provoking hosting styles used by the event team provided a thematic balance to complement the evening. It was heartening to see officials from the Embassy of Pakistan attending the event and also to see a large number of local and international students wearing the national dress of Pakistan to show a spirit of camaraderie with their Pakistani counterparts. The event was capped off with Pakistani snacks, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the attendees. Overall credit must go to the club, which in its infancy was able to hold an event that did such justice to the rich history and culture of Pakistan.
