On April 29, the Department of Philosophy held its first Undergraduate Philosophy Conference, organized by students from the department.
Participants from a number of universities, including Bilkent, Boğaziçi, METU, Koç and Yeditepe, presented papers. Each presentation was accompanied by comments from a volunteer, followed by a lively discussion session. A wide variety of topics were discussed, including suicide, the philosophy of action, David Hume and experimental philosophy.
The organizing committee expressed the hope that the conference will become an annual event, providing students with a forum for philosophical debate and inquiry.
